“Our delivery plans changed last minute due to a higher risk diagnosis and so my doula plans kept getting pushed back. I finally sat down and started trying to find someone who was within our budget and Maureen's profile jumped out at me because she was trying to complete her DONA certification like I am. So since I am familiar with DONAs training and standards I had a good feeling about her. We definitely clicked when we met (there are lots of great doulas out there but you won't always click and that's OK and that's why interviewing is important!)

Maureen was 100% attentive even before the hospital, she would text me to check in and called a few times too just to touch base. My doctors had recommended an induction around 37w due to mild pre eclampsia. By the time we actually were admitted I actually didnt need induction and labor was progressing without super painful contractions. I had told Maureen when to show up once we were settled and she was prompt and prepared. She started timing my contractions while I rested a bit. Once labor did ramp up it was very intense VERY fast. Maureen was right there, supportive and applied hip squeezes and helped me move into different positions and suggested things when i wasn’t sure what to try. It was very reassuring to have someone else who knew how to react and apply comfort measures. My husband was very impressed and says he was so relieved to have a second pair of hands in the moment. Our 1st baby was a very stressful situation and this birth was fully opposite of that, Maureen was a big part of that and I hope to stay in touch for future babies if it happens. We loved Maureen!!”

“I just gave birth 3 days ago but had to take the time to write this review to share just how happy my husband and I were with our experience with Maureen. The first time we actually met in person was when I was in active labor at the birth center. She jumped right in and got to work without hesitation, providing me instant comfort and attention, anticipating my needs and offering up suggestions that really worked. At this time, the birth center only allows 2 support people in the room for a birth, and it was important to me that my mom got to experience my son's birth. When it was almost time for him to be born, Maureen graciously stepped aside so my mom could be there with me for that moment. In a perfect world they would have both been there the whole time, but I was so appreciative of Maureen's flexibility, even though that meant she didn't get to experience the actual moment of birth itself. She waited around and checked in on us soon after, and I know in these postpartum weeks, she is only a text or a call away if I need something. We are so grateful for such a positive experience with Doula Maureen!!!”

“Maureen was an exception addition to our birth team, which in the beginning was just my wife and I. I felt confident reaching out to her with any and all questions leading up my labor and delivery. The creation of my birth plan, information she provided to help me understand what to expect, and willingness to hear my fears and concerns made me confident going into what would ultimately be a very difficult delivery.

I had a particularly long delivery and ultimately a failed induction and emergency c-section. Even before she was there though, the advice and guidance she gave stuck with us and equipped us to what was to come, particularly with how to advocate for ourselves. We stayed in touch up until she came in when my water broke. Once she was there and I was getting Pitocin, she was able to use her skills to help ease my contractions so my wife could stay in front of me and we could stay connected. After I received my epidural, Maureen ensured Brittany could sleep by staying awake and being alert for me. Another invaluable moment as soon to be parents - our last moments of dual sleep for months to come. Once we hit the point where we had to decide for a c-section, Maureen was instrumental in helping us ask the right questions and give me confidence to make the decision that was the right one.

Her support through knowledge, kindness, compassion, and curiosity made me feel ready to take on birth and ultimately, parenthood.”

“Maureen was our awesome doula at the birth of our son, who is our first. We had a planned induction and Maureen was very supportive before and at the birth in developing our birth plan and coming up with comfort strategies. When Maureen arrived at the hospital the birth was intense with painful contractions and the baby's heart rate was dipping. My husband is in a wheelchair so for much of the laboring process Maureen was my primary support person, providing comfort and a listening ear. Due to complications our birth plan changed rapidly and Maureen was great at supporting us through that. She also took photos during the c-section and debriefed with us later which was all very appreciated. Overall highly recommend!”

She listened very well to our requests and offered several solutions and options to our many questions.
